About Alex

Originally from Hong Kong and currently based in New York, Alex’s work explores culture, gender, and identity through a feminist, Asian diasporic lens. Centering young women and queer characters, her films draw on folklore, tradition, and cultural memory to examine female bodily autonomy, queer desire, and the discomforts and mythologies that shape our understanding of the body.

Alex graduated with a BFA in Film Production from USC and is currently pursuing an MFA at NYU Tisch. Her short films have screened at Palm Springs International ShortFest, Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and BOGOShorts, among others.
